Just prior to IBC, we had the privilege of announcing that the U.K.’s ITV, Germany’s RTL Deutschland, and France’s TF1 Group have all joined the community of SDVI Rally users.

Just when I may have thought that innovation was stagnating, along came IBC and I saw a plethora of startups bringing new AI-inspired tools to the media tech market. Whether visiting the dedicated “Innovation Zones” in Hall 14 or simply walking around the other parts of the RAI, I was struck at how many vendors, both new and old, were offering new tools for working with media content. It was a welcome reminder that our industry is one of continual innovation, especially from new entrants to the market.
Whether it was subbing, dubbing, captioning, or compliance, I was impressed by some of the new tools for automating these important tasks. It was clear that GenAI and machine learning tools will help make more content available to more audiences faster. It’s an exciting time, and it’s also a time to start experimenting.

Dynamic Preset Data Available in Workorder Lists
Because workorder lists in Rally Core, Gateway, and Access now have access to dynamic preset data, they can show workorder-specific data. As a result, many workorders of the same type can be run on the same assets at the same time, even when asset metadata is not sufficient for operators to differentiate between the different workorders.
For example, three different compliance edits for three different regions now can use the same presets, with the list displaying dynamic data that indicates which region the required edit is for. The same is true for metadata correction for 15 different deliveries of the same asset to different platforms. This function likewise applies to EDL durations, desired output lengths, and more. Lists can combine dynamic preset data with asset metadata and CustomerResourceId, so no data duplication is necessary.
