See it at IBC: Rally-integrated Accurate.Video Subtitle
At IBC, we’re showcasing all the ways operations teams benefit from media supply chain optimization. Accurate.Video Subtitle solves the problem of a costly and time-consuming reversioning process by integrating subtitle modification into a Rally-managed supply chain. Operators can make precise edits and correct small errors without leaving the workflow, re-transcoding files, or coordinating with external vendors.
Whether it’s a high-value release requiring 100% QC or just a last-mile compliance tweak, Accurate.Video Subtitle enables fast, secure, in-house corrections, keeping content moving and protecting both budget and viewer experience. A new Application Brief offers more detail on the benefits and use cases.
Supply Chain Thinking
Extending the Media Supply Chain: Automating and Optimizing Through the ‘Last Mile’

Geoff Stedman, Chief Marketing Officer
The challenge: Deliver content to a growing number of endpoints, each with its own distinctive requirements. Get the same piece of content out the door, tailored for hundreds of different destinations.
Media organizations face this challenge every day, and it’s a major source of friction, cost and time in modern media operations.
Every delivery requires something a little different. This variability — both in content and packaging — is a persistent driver of inefficiency for media organizations. And while standardization may seem like an appealing solution, it’s simply not feasible in the face of complex and dynamic requirements. You just can’t ask every endpoint to accept the same kind of package.
This is why “automating the impossible” — those complicated last-mile processes — has been a recurring theme across my recent blog posts. By extending automation to content packaging and delivery, organizations effectively broaden the scope of the media supply chain. In doing so, they are better positioned to identify weak links in that chain and innovate for further optimization.
Traditionally, final packaging of content has been handled by specialized teams using bespoke systems, often operating outside the core media supply chain, or even outsourced. Whether performed internally or by an external provider, this work has typically been repetitive, time-consuming, and resource-intensive.
Today, however, Rally Connect supports a different approach, enabling a single team to automate and manage many of the complex, manually-intensive processes involved in packaging and delivery. It simplifies and accelerates the exchange of content and metadata between business partners across the broader media supply chain, from content producers to content owners, distributors, and aggregators.
In the blog, we detail how Rally Connect gives you more control, tailoring and packaging content for each destination and delivery spec with greater speed, agility, and cost visibility – delivering just the right package to each customer, every time.

Rally Connect Changes the Game for Content Delivery
Contributions from the SDVI Technical Solutions and Partner teams
As we head into IBC and think about what we will hear from customers – their challenges and their ambitions for their supply chain operations – we asked our Technical Solutions team to tell us which Rally-powered solutions, in their experience, had the biggest impact on users.
Daan van Schooneveld and Paul Murzell put the spotlight on Rally Connect.
In order to successfully deliver to all of their endpoints, media companies must be able to handle high volumes of content and metadata that meet a vast array of endpoint specifications, formats and workflows. Preparing content manually to meet each platform’s requirements can be incredibly resource-intensive.
Rally Connect offers a solution that builds upon the scalable, efficient infrastructure of the Rally platform. Connect automates and verifies the exchange of content and metadata between media business partners. Media, graphics, associated metadata and other components are transformed to meet the specification of each endpoint, and are then delivered automatically. Automation of the delivery process allows users to manage by exception, handling only those issues that require human attention, rather than having to handle every step manually.
In the blog, Sr. Product Manager Chris Deas looks in detail at how the visibility and traceability offered by Rally Connect are transforming the way content gets to endpoints across the media universe.
Alex Popa observes, when building a Rally media supply chain, you’re not locked into a single tool for each task – you have the freedom to choose the best tool for the job. The Rally Application Services Market offers a wide range of third-party integrations, allowing users to tailor their workflows to the specific uses cases. Different parts of a supply chain may call for different tools, whether due to complexity, content type, or simply the preference of the operator or engineer. Whether those are transcoders, QC, or AI tools, Rally users can spin tools up or down as needed without rebuilding the supply chain from scratch.
And that flexibility doesn’t end once a supply chain is built. Users can swap tools, add new capabilities, or adjust processes. Rally users are empowered to continually iterate and optimize, adapt and personalize to achieve the best possible outcome.

Justin Bracegirdle, Technical Account Manager
Editor’s note: “What was your favorite problem you helped solve in the past year?” This is the question we posed to our Technical Solutions team at the start of the year. Their answers reveal some of the best problem-solving taking place on Rally media supply chains today. This is the third in their series of answers.
Subtitles play a crucial role in making media more accessible to a broader audience; however, ensuring they are ready for consumption can be a tedious and time-consuming task. And as the number of delivery endpoints (with their own unique requirements) grows, ensuring compliance across those endpoints becomes more complex. Operators must pay special attention to specifics such as reading speed limits, text positioning, event gap durations, and more. The good news is that Rally and the providers available in the Application Services Market can streamline this process.
With Rally, source captions can be run first through an automated QC provider, which inspects the captions for any issues, generates a report detailing those issues, and can be tailored to meet the destination’s requirements. The report, also known as time-based metadata (TBMD), can then be utilized throughout the rest of the supply chain to inform decisions on next steps.

The Assignment
- Keep content in the cloud environment, eliminating egress costs and reliance on legacy on-prem storage (or laptops).
- Give editors (and administrators!) a consistent workstation setup utilizing a single, current NLE.
- Add robust edit and versioning capabilities into a new, optimized workflow.
In the blog, we show how the customer’s new workflow provides clear visibility, consistency, and security. The customer now has a full edit/versioning workflow that is maintained in the Rally environment where administrators enjoy full control. And the organization has assurance that manual QC and versioning processes will not expose them to needless egress costs or security vulnerabilities.
And that flexibility doesn’t end once a supply chain is built. Users can swap tools, add new capabilities, or adjust processes. Rally users are empowered to continually iterate and optimize, adapt and personalize to achieve the best possible outcome.

New in Rally
Find Rally Details and Functions with Greater Ease
Recent updates to the Rally platform make it easier for users to access details about the performance of their media supply chains or to navigate to necessary functions.
Insight: Expand Chart Widget to Full Screen
Rally Insight widgets can now be viewed in full screen with a press of a button. When charts include extensive detail, users can view more detail without the chart using too much screen real estate. As a result, a single page can display many more visualizations.
Expand Contents of Work Order Notifications
The email notification that Rally sends when a work order has been reassigned now includes a link to the work order asset. This additional information allows operators to navigate quickly to Rally to see more details or take action.
These are just a few of the recent updates made to the Rally platform. Read more in our latest Rally Updates blog.
Why it matters:
Now, with more centralized metadata form and list management, teams can define a single reference that is reused across various workflows. Any modifications made to the fields or forms automatically propagate wherever they are used, eliminating the need for manual updates across multiple Gateways and enabling greater efficiency with lower risk of error or inconsistency.
This capability is especially beneficial for organizations managing high volumes of media assets, where consistency in metadata is critical for efficient search, retrieval, and automation.
