Coming at IBC: Cloud Localization Blueprint
SDVI is proud to be a part of the IBC 2022 Accelerator Innovation Project “Cloud Localization Blueprint” along with several other leading vendors. This project defines a best practices approach for building a cloud-based media supply chain for the localization of entertainment content, and it is championed by Warner Bros. Discovery, The Pokemon Company International, and ITV.

The Accelerator will be presented at the IBC Innovation Theatre on 11 September and will be on display at SDVI stand 5.C69.
Supply Chain Thinking:
What the Industry is Saying about the Future of Media Supply Chain
In today’s ultra-competitive media market, media companies are faced with the dual challenge of producing and delivering great content while making it easy and frictionless for consumers to find and consume that content. It’s imperative to ensure that customers have a great experience from content discovery all the way through content consumption. But where do media companies find the resources to invest in creating experiences that will delight customers? One place to look is the media supply chain.
In May, the DPP held their 2nd Media Supply Festival just outside of Washington, DC. During the event, more than 160 media organizations and technology suppliers came together to explore the transformation of a wide range of operations for media distribution and delivery.
Some key takeaways from the event were worth sharing in a recent blog, but can be summarized:
Delivering on the promise of data
Panelists in this session talked about the benefits of initiatives designed to deliver a clear purpose that is immediately apparent to the teams concerned and to business leaders. A central theme from this conversation? “Data becomes effective when translated into business process information that is of direct practical benefit to users.”
Facilitating more scalability and efficiency
A+E Networks presented a Supply Chain Showcase, sharing about their use of standardized internal master formats for media and metadata to facilitate more scalable and efficient operations. A+E Networks uses this model to take large volumes of its library to market more quickly and to deliver content to a broader range of endpoints. In short, it’s a classic example of optimization allowing an organization to say “yes” to opportunity much more often.
Boosting efficiency through interconnection
The process of delivering content between companies has a history of being problematic and time-consuming – a problem amplified by increased global demand for content. Don Jarvis of A+E Networks and Rob Goldheim of Warner Bros. Discovery outlined a recent initiative between the two companies to complete a content exchange within hours rather than the weeks this process normally requires. They asserted that media organizations will need to adopt an effective model of metadata mapping and translation to achieve efficient content exchanges in the future.
The DPP compiled all of the insights and information that came out of the festival into the Media Supply Manifesto, a summary report that extracts the topics, challenges, and changes that most captured the imagination of the participants. We’re pleased to make it available to you.
From our Technical Solutions team:
New auto-save and metadata support in
Accurate.Video Validate

Gary Pass, VP of Technical Solutions, EMEA
Rally users should check out the latest functionality available in Accurate.Video Validate, a web-based tool designed to streamline manual QC jobs. Validate now automatically saves any changes operators make on a workorder: when the workorder is closed and reopened, all of the markers added to the workorder are still there. This enhancement gives operators more flexibility in how they manage their assignments and schedule work.
Additionally, Rally users can now configure custom metadata to display on the Asset view in Accurate.Video Validate. Operators can view more information about the asset they are validating, giving them more context for their QC reviews.
The integration of Accurate.Video Validate with Rally Gateway makes it easy to complete QC jobs. Simply click on a workorder to start a session in a browser with a single button click. Operators can also click a button to quickly switch between video and audio workspaces.

New in Rally:
Recent updates to the Rally platform bring users increased operational efficiency, enhanced control, and new application services.
Highlights include the availability of a new job list widget in Rally Gateway, dense data views of supply chain rules and job history, more granular control over deletion rights, and enhancements to the upload widget.

Additionally, we’ve worked closely with our partners Adobe & Codemill to add new integration features including new subtitle track import in Premiere Pro and custom metadata support in Accurate.Video Validate.
You can read more about these and the full list of Rally enhancements in our latest Rally Update blog.
