IBC 2025 Wrap-Up
A lot of news can come out of a trade show — IBC 2025 was no exception.

Sky was awarded an IBC 2025 Innovation Award in Content Distribution for its MediaMesh platform, which integrates systems and workflows of broadcasters across Europe to deliver API-driven, cloud-native, modular distribution. IBC recognized Sky’s reimagination of the way content can be delivered at scale. SDVI was proud to collaborate on this project with AWS, Telestream, and TMT Insights.

Rally Connect was recognized with an IBC Best of Show Award from TV Technology. At a time when media companies need more agile and scalable content delivery systems, this award demonstrates that cloud-based supply chains are uniquely capable of meeting that need. Thanks to our customers and partners for their collaboration and to our team for their hard work bringing this product to market.
And, as always, it was great to see so many of you at the show for some productive discussions about how to address your media supply chain challenge
Supply Chain Thinking
Thriving Amid Chaos: Why a Well-Architected, Automated Media Supply Chain Matters More Than Ever

Geoff Stedman, Chief Marketing Officer
The media industry today is facing more chaos and uncertainty than at any point in recent memory. Shifting consumer behaviors, fluctuating advertising markets, ongoing consolidation, and the relentless pace of new technology introductions are challenging even the most resilient companies. And layered on top of all this, we’re seeing a surge of industry transactions: mergers that reshape competitive landscapes, acquisitions that bring new opportunities but also integration headaches, and corporate splits that leave organizations needing to retool how they operate from the ground up. Each of these moves creates ripples of disruption across supply chains, business models, and organizational structures.
In this kind of environment, rigidity is the enemy. Media companies that try to hold onto inflexible systems and static workflows will find themselves unable to keep up. The real imperative is to be flexible, adaptable, and responsive—to anticipate change where possible and to pivot quickly when the unexpected arrives.
At the center of this imperative is the media supply chain: the collection of processes and tools that take content from its point of origin and prepare it for distribution across an ever-expanding array of platforms. In times of relative stability, traditional workflows and legacy systems might have been “good enough.” But in today’s market, good enough simply isn’t enough.
The chaos in today’s market isn’t going away. In the blog, we look at how a well-architected, automated, cloud-based media supply chain can move media companies from simply coping with change to actually leveraging it as a competitive advantage.
From Our Technical Solutions Team:
Under the Hood: Operating Rally Connect

Contributions from the SDVI Technical Solutions and Partner teams
As we head into IBC and think about what we will hear from customers – their challenges and their ambitions for their supply chain operations – we asked our Technical Solutions team to tell us which Rally-powered solutions, in their experience, had the biggest impact on users.
Daan van Schooneveld and Paul Murzell put the spotlight on Rally Connect.
In order to successfully deliver to all of their endpoints, media companies must be able to handle high volumes of content and metadata that meet a vast array of endpoint specifications, formats and workflows. Preparing content manually to meet each platform’s requirements can be incredibly resource-intensive.
Rally Connect offers a solution that builds upon the scalable, efficient infrastructure of the Rally platform. Connect automates and verifies the exchange of content and metadata between media business partners. Media, graphics, associated metadata and other components are transformed to meet the specification of each endpoint, and are then delivered automatically. Automation of the delivery process allows users to manage by exception, handling only those issues that require human attention, rather than having to handle every step manually.
In the blog, Sr. Product Manager Chris Deas looks in detail at how the visibility and traceability offered by Rally Connect are transforming the way content gets to endpoints across the media universe.
Alex Popa observes, when building a Rally media supply chain, you’re not locked into a single tool for each task – you have the freedom to choose the best tool for the job. The Rally Application Services Market offers a wide range of third-party integrations, allowing users to tailor their workflows to the specific uses cases. Different parts of a supply chain may call for different tools, whether due to complexity, content type, or simply the preference of the operator or engineer. Whether those are transcoders, QC, or AI tools, Rally users can spin tools up or down as needed without rebuilding the supply chain from scratch.
And that flexibility doesn’t end once a supply chain is built. Users can swap tools, add new capabilities, or adjust processes. Rally users are empowered to continually iterate and optimize, adapt and personalize to achieve the best possible outcome.

Editor’s note: “What was your favorite problem you helped solve in the past year?” This is the question we posed to our Technical Solutions team at the start of the year. Their answers reveal some of the best problem-solving taking place on Rally media supply chains today. This is the third in their series of answers.
We’ve talked about how Rally Connect addresses today’s content delivery challenges, leveraging cloud agility and efficiency to manage complex delivery requirements and enable automated package creation for each endpoint.
So, what does it look like for operators to work in a Connect environment?
Accurate.Video Subtitle is integrated with SDVI Rally to provide subtitle editing capabilities.
The Assignment
- Keep content in the cloud environment, eliminating egress costs and reliance on legacy on-prem storage (or laptops).
- Give editors (and administrators!) a consistent workstation setup utilizing a single, current NLE.
- Add robust edit and versioning capabilities into a new, optimized workflow.
In the blog, we show how the customer’s new workflow provides clear visibility, consistency, and security. The customer now has a full edit/versioning workflow that is maintained in the Rally environment where administrators enjoy full control. And the organization has assurance that manual QC and versioning processes will not expose them to needless egress costs or security vulnerabilities.
Most operators will interact with Connect using Rally Gateway pages. Those familiar with Gateways already know that they are a fantastic tool for building portals tailor-made to operators’ precise needs. Gateway pages are composed of widgets, which are views or action panels that can be customized to achieve specific tasks.
In the blog, we take a closer look at how you can create custom operating environments for Rally Connect users.
New in Rally
Gateway Page Grouping
Rally Gateway administrators can now group Gateway pages, first creating groups and then adding Gateway pages to them. Groups are shown at the top of the list and can be reordered. Pages that are not part of a group are shown below the groups.
This update simplifies management and browsing when Rally users need to address a high variety of use cases within a single Gateway. This Gateway page grouping enhancement guides Gateway users to the right areas, helping them easily navigate large volumes of info.
These are just a few of the recent updates made to the Rally platform. Read more in our latest Rally Updates blog.
Why it matters:
Now, with more centralized metadata form and list management, teams can define a single reference that is reused across various workflows. Any modifications made to the fields or forms automatically propagate wherever they are used, eliminating the need for manual updates across multiple Gateways and enabling greater efficiency with lower risk of error or inconsistency.
This capability is especially beneficial for organizations managing high volumes of media assets, where consistency in metadata is critical for efficient search, retrieval, and automation.
