Production Pilot: Going Beyond The Demo

A Production Pilot is a limited, time-bound engagement in which we work with our customers to design and run a real supply chain using production-grade workflows, without the pressure of full-scale deployment. It sits between early evaluation and full production, giving both teams space to test assumptions, learn, and adjust. The intent is not to “show” how a system works, but to build out your workflows with real content, real people, and real operational expectations, in a controlled, no-risk environment.

For the SDVI Solutions Team, running a Production Pilot is about working alongside our customers to make sure a new supply chain functions in practice. Demos can be helpful, but they sometimes don’t quite capture the real-world challenges teams face when they’re dealing with actual content, deadlines, and limitations. A Pilot lets us run real content through workflows that closely resemble production, so everyone can see how the process behaves end-to-end. If it delivers clear efficiency gains, we have something proven and ready to build on. If it doesn’t, we work with you to reimagine the solution to ensure it provides real value.

The two- to four-month Production Pilot is designed to be hands-on and collaborative. Our Technical Account Managers and Solutions Architects are directly involved, helping design the supply chain, set up workflows, and integrate Rally into existing systems. This period also includes a lot of effort spent on training, walking engineering and operations teams through not just how things work, but why they’re designed that way. The goal is that, by the end of the Pilot, the stakeholders feel comfortable operating and evolving the system themselves, rather than relying on external support for every change.

In the end, we view the Production Pilot as a shared learning phase. SDVI provides a dedicated Rally environment that mirrors a real-world supply chain and the Solutions team works closely with our customers to test assumptions, refine workflows, and build confidence. By the time the Pilot wraps up, both teams should have a clear, firsthand understanding of how Rally would operate in production, ensuring it’s the right fit to expand into your broader media operations.
