IBC Recap:
Getting back to business (transformation) at IBC2022
The first fully in-person IBC since 2019, IBC2022 was buzzing. While overall attendance was down, the attendees were clearly ready to get back together and reconnect in face-to-face conversations. At the SDVI stand, we spoke with our guests about how to modernize their supply chains to remove barriers and create more business agility.

One of our key takeaways was the power of partnerships. The days of one vendor claiming to “do it all” for a customer are over. Today, customers expect the freedom to incorporate whatever tools they choose into their supply chains. They expect solutions to leverage cloud efficiency and scalability, and they expect vendor technologies to integrate cohesively.
Geoff Stedman reflects on IBC2022 in more detail in this blog post.
Supply Chain Thinking:
Compounding value in your media supply chain
In today’s ultra-competitive media market, media companies are faced with the dual challenge of producing and delivering great content while making it easy and frictionless for consumers to find and consume that content. It’s imperative to ensure that customers have a great experience from content discovery all the way through content consumption. But where do media companies find the resources to invest in creating experiences that will delight customers? One place to look is the media supply chain.
A modern, dynamic media supply chain holds the opportunity to compound operating value, enabling media businesses to build other competitive advantages. When you automate a process within your supply chain, cost reduction is often the most notable and desirable result. But when you analyze, orchestrate, and optimize each of the multiple processes across your supply chain and then link them together, you get a value result far beyond cumulative efficiencies and cost reductions. Much more than a sum of the parts, the compounding value you realize through end-to-end supply chain optimization has the power to drive business transformation.

As you move toward full supply chain optimization, as the SDVI Rally platform allows you to do, you build an infrastructure that empowers your company to capitalize on new market opportunities, strike new partnerships, and increase your profitability. Your supply chain gives you a competitive advantage.
In our 4-part blog series, we examine how building on supply chain efficiency, utilizing the intelligence inherent in the supply chain, and leveraging its agility to iterate, experiment, and improve, gives organizations an unprecedented competitive advantage in the media marketplace.
From our Technical Solutions team:
Rally Access 3 available for preview

Brian Pelletier, VP of Technical Solutions, Americas
Over the last year, SDVI has undertaken a complete refresh of the Rally Access panel for Adobe Premiere Pro. Rally Access 3 will be widely available in Q4 2022 and is currently available as a preview for existing users.
The refresh allows newly developed functionality to be available across the entire platform at once. Changes to Rally Gateway and Rally Access also bring the user interfaces into better alignment, so that operators can enjoy a more seamless experience across UIs.

Rally Access 3 includes additional improvements to the user experience: better asset inventory browsing and preview inside the Premiere Pro panel, as well as a clean new preset format that enables more advanced input and output file handling.
The preview version of Rally Access 3 is currently available for install via the Adobe Exchange. The Technical Solutions team welcomes user questions and feedback and can assist with adapting presets to the new formatting.

New in Rally:
Updates to Rally in Q3 2022 included control enhancements, improvements for ease-of-use, and numerous updates to the Rally Application Services ecosystem. This past quarter, SDVI has not only added new providers to that ecosystem but also augmented the platform to support new functionality and use cases with existing providers. Two highlights include:

Support for Google VI Face Detection
The Google Video Intelligence provider has been updated to support face detection, enabling Rally users to leverage GCP ML services to enrich metadata with the celebrities and talent present in their content.

Support for OCR Text Detection in Rekognition
The Rally implementation for AWS Rekognition Video now allows for inclusion of OCR test detection, allowing customers to find and store text that is visible on screen. As a result, Rally users can now find content based on lower thirds, location overlays, and more.
