Updates to the Rally media supply chain management platform in Q4 2024 are part of ongoing platform development not only for existing SDVI customers but also to support cloud-transformation projects for new customers, including leading European broadcast and media companies such as the U.K.’s ITV, Germany’s RTL Deutschland, and France’s TF1 Group.
To facilitate supply chain management for these and other enterprise media companies, SDVI undertakes continuous enhancement and innovation throughout the year. In the last quarter of 2024, updates address multiregion support and redundancy, extend integration capabilities, and expand access to best-in-class application services while improving overall usability. In this latest round of updates, SDVI has also augmented the Rally Application Services ecosystem by introducing three new providers and adding support for extended capabilities within existing media processing applications.

Usability Enhancements
Work Order Table View
Rally Core and the Work Order widget in Rally Gateway now both support a table view. This allows for a more dense and structured display of information about work orders. Managers can more quickly get an overview of work orders that need reassigning, or other work, with more data available to them.
Support for Moving/Copying a Widget Across Pages
Building on recently added functionality that supports duplication of a widget on a single page, a further enhancement to Rally Gateway and Insight allows administrators to copy or move widgets across pages. This functionality enables migration of dashboards and Gateway use cases once they exceed their utility on the page on which they are currently hosted.
Multiregion Redundancy Enhancements
Rally users now can run anonymous supply chains on remote assets. These supply chains get started with the Remote Asset ID available in the context data, allowing supply chain engineers to access any needed information — such as metadata and status markers — stored about the remote asset. This information can be used to start appropriate local supply chains automatically to create a local asset and, in the event of regional outages, continue any necessary steps to finish work on the asset. The remote asset search and remote asset information are also available via the Rally API, enabling users in multiregion deployments to integrate this functionality into other operational systems.
Storage Location Resource Viewer
When browsing files via a Resource Viewer, Rally Core users can quickly see details of a storage location without leaving the current asset page and potentially losing context. This can be useful, for example, in verifying the availability of a content version in a specific region or different cloud vendor.
Markdown Font-Color Support
When displaying text, the Rally Markdown widget now supports different colors, including the theme colors of the Gateway the widget is on. This enables a richer experience for content operations while maintaining centrally configured status and theme colors.
Usage Report: Different Date Format Support
Rally administrators can now define the date format for Rally usage reports. Supporting regional differences in time and date display, this update eases the process of importing the data into different regional tools and allows local operators to read exported data in their local formats.
Remove Extra Spaces When Pasting Text
When Rally users paste text from other pages or forms into Rally search or entry forms, leading and trailing spaces are now trimmed to prevent erroneous data entry, thereby preventing the return of incorrect search results and the incorrect setup of resources such as storage locations.
Include Muxed Caption/Subtitle Info in Technical Summary
If a media master file includes subtitle or caption data, information about format is now included in the Asset Details technical summary. As a result, Gateway and Rally operators can very quickly verify that master files match expectations — and troubleshoot any issues more rapidly.
Rally UI: Text-Wrapping Enhancement
A new text-wrapping button has been added to the artefact portion of the Rally Job Details view. Users now have the option of viewing long text values in a text-wrapped mode, where appropriate, while looking at unstructured data, and they still can expand the view when looking at structured data.
Certification Enhancements
Certification runs now can be scheduled to run periodically, allowing supply chain engineers to run different test cases on different schedules, after deploys or nightly. Using a new API endpoint, Rally engineers also can integrate the Rally certification runs into their own monitoring solutions.
Supply Chain Error Enhancements
When a supply chain cannot continue because of a configuration issue, such as a preset not being available when the supply chain is ready to be run, this error information is now readily available in the supply chain monitoring section. This update supports supply chain engineers in building and troubleshooting supply chains.
Supply Chain Runner Shortcuts
When running a supply chain on an asset and searching for a rule to run, users now can navigate the result using the arrow keys rather than a mouse. This option allows for much faster testing when building new supply chains or testing changes to specific presets.
Allow Filtering on clientResourceId on Jobs Page
Rally users now can filter by clientResourceId on the main Rally Jobs page. This allows operators to more easily find jobs based on the IDs of external systems, as well as find jobs grouped by clientResourceId, just as they already do on the Asset Details page.
Accurate Player: Additional Subtitle Support
Accurate Player within Rally Gateway now supports scc, srt, stl, pac, and itt subtitle formats.
Rally Access 3: Support for Audio Layout
Rally Access 3 now supports the EDL source attribute audioChannelsTypeoverride, with valid values for audioChannelsType being “mono,” “stereo,” and “5.1.” This update will make Adobe Premiere interpret footage using the assigned audio layout. For example, if a file is stereo, and Premiere normally places a stereo track on the timeline by default, the EDL can override this and split the track into monos.
Rally Access Workstation: File Transfer Progress Info
The Rally Access Workstation Gateway widget has been updated to show transfer progress information, giving the operator more in-depth feedback about the steps involved in creating a workstation in the cloud.
Application Services Updates
New Provider: Capella Cambria File Transcoder (FTC)
Capella Cambria FTC has been added to the Rally Application Services ecosystem. This transcoding provider currently works only in license management configurations.
New Provider: Nablet MXF Studio
Rally now supports Nablet MXF Studio as a provider. Supported tools from this provider include Conan, which analyzes MXF against a specified standard; Normalizer, which remuxes an MXF file to match a specific standard; and Join, which combines multiple MXF files into a single file.
New Provider: Venera Quasar Cloud QC
The video quality checker Venera Quasar Cloud QC is now available within the Rally Application Services ecosystem.
Update: SDVI Mover Support for Signiant Jet and SigniantDeck/Flight Gateway
SDVI Mover now supports Signiant Flight Deck and Flight Gateway transfer services, an update that addresses the current manager/agent functionality being deprecated by Signiant. SDVI Mover now supports transferring files using Signiant Jet, which enables Signiant Flight Gateway transfers.
Update: AWS Transcribe Provider
The AWS Transcribe provider within the Rally platform has been upgraded to allow audio-only files and jobs to be processed, as well as to enable saving an srt or vtt subtitle file directly from AWS.
