That’s a Wrap! IBC2026

IBC2026 was another big one for SDVI: a full week of meetings on how to solve customers most pressing challenges, and catching up with customers and partners across Amsterdam. If you stopped by our stand or joined us at our Connect reception, thank you for making the time.
The highlight of the week: our fireside chat at the AWS Theater, where CMO Geoff Stedman sat down with Ida Shahnazari, VP of Content & Playout Operations at RTL Technology, to talk through RTL’s first full year running its media supply chain on Rally.
The numbers speak for themselves: 80% less time spent in the media supply chain, manual QC turnaround down from 1 to 2 days to about 1 hour, and 100% of ingest steps automated. But what stood out most was how Ida described the shift: from an operation built on email and manual handoffs to one where Rally has become, in her words, RTL’s central nervous system.
You can read more detail about how RTL got there in this month’s Technical Solutions Team article by Rémi Ta, below.
Supply Chain Thinking
Keeping Control of Content in an AI World

Geoff Stedman, Chief Marketing Officer
At IBC2026, AI was everywhere — in the announcements, the demos, the hallway conversations. Nearly every vendor I talked to was showing off an AI-enabled tool, an MCP server, or some new AI integration between applications. It’s clear that AI is on track to touch nearly everything media organizations do, from agents orchestrating work at the top of the stack to specialized tools handling tasks like analysis and localization underneath.
But underneath the buzz, a quieter conversation is happening, and it comes down to one concern: if AI is going to be everywhere, how do you stay in control? That splits into two questions that are really two sides of the same coin: can you trust the content moving through your supply chain, and can you trust the systems that are increasingly moving it for you? Audiences want assurance that content still reflects the original story after countless format and spec changes, and new EU AI Act transparency requirements are only raising the stakes on disclosing what’s AI-generated or altered.
That second question matters more every day, as AI tools and agents take on more of the work and increasingly hand tasks off to one another automatically. That’s great for efficiency, but no organization wants its AI tools doing things nobody knows about. In the blog, we talk about how a platform like Rally, because it manages execution across the entire supply chain, becomes the system of record for what actually happened: which tools touched an asset, what they did, and whether a person reviewed or approved the work.
My take: these two problems share the same underlying gap — a lack of visibility into what’s actually happening between ingest and delivery. The organizations that close that gap up front, rather than bolting on visibility after the fact, are the ones that will be able to embrace AI while still standing behind the content it touches.
From Our Technical Solutions Team:
How RTL Deutschland Rebuilt Content Delivery on Rally

Rémi Ta, Technical Account Manager
Before RTL Deutschland adopted the Rally platform, a single program moved across six separate systems, none of them meaningfully connected, on the journey from a supplier into playout. The same metadata was entered by hand in each one, and there was no way to see where a delivery stood without a phone call.
In this month’s Technical Solutions Team article, we walk through how RTL consolidated those six systems into three, with Rally orchestrating everything between the editorial system of record and the media asset management system. Rally Gateway portals now give content operations, QC, and suppliers each a workspace scoped to their own work, and suppliers resolve failed deliveries themselves, without ever picking up the phone.
The result: processing a master version now takes 2 clicks instead of 25, and manual QC turnaround for a 45-minute program dropped from as much as 2 days to about 1 hour.
New in Rally
Next-Gen Rally: See It In Action
We announced the next generation of Rally earlier this year — a redesigned orchestration engine built around a declarative, composable architecture.
If you haven’t had a chance to see it running, Chief Product Officer Chris Braehler walks through it in a short demo video, covering the Graphical Supply Chain Builder, Supply Chain Functions, Supply Chain Rewind, and the new Agentic AI Interface that lets external AI agents query and interact with Rally-managed supply chains using natural language.
Declarative Supply Chain Definitions
Supply chains are now defined declaratively, separating control from data — making them easier to version, audit, share, and reuse, with support for nested subchains.
Supply Chain Functions
A new modular functions layer brings reusable building blocks for common supply chain tasks — prebuilt by SDVI, or your own.
Supply Chain Rewind
Operators can now step back through supply chain execution during a live run — a powerful new tool for failure analysis and root cause investigation.

Agentic AI Interface
A new MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets external AI systems query Rally, trigger supply chain execution, and — because Rally supply chains are human-readable — even author supply chain definitions directly.

Partner Spotlight

Manually managing video quality checks doesn’t scale, and it’s subjective by nature. IMAX StreamAware™ | On-Demand solves both problems with an all-in-one automated quality assurance and quality control platform built on IMAX VisionScience™, a patented, Emmy®-winning perceptual quality metric that scores video the way a human viewer would. It automates checks that traditionally required a person watching a screen, validates against delivery requirements, and auto-scales to handle changing workloads. Now part of the SDVI Application Services Market, IMAX StreamAware | On-Demand gives Rally users a single, objective quality metric across the entire media supply chain, without adding another standalone tool to the stack.
